Nuggets of Wisdom
Do you ever look over an old journal that you’ve written long ago? I am surprised, sometimes, that I find a few nuggets of wisdom. After all, the old me can’t know as much as the now me, could she?
In that long ago writing, I was worried about the world. I guess there really is nothing new under the sun. The world is now in worse shape than ever.
BUT Jesus is coming back. That was our hope then. It is even more our hope now.
Sitting With Him
Back then – I went to a chapel to sit quietly and pray. It seemed as if He sat beside me.
“Stop, Child. Just stop. Stop and look at Me. You are concerned about a great many things like Martha—but—I AM.”
Wow.
Can you imagine Jesus sitting next to you and with His power, sweeping aside all your concerns? Everything except who He is. Opening your eyes to see Him. To know that He is absolutely in charge. All things will happen as He ordains. All outcomes will bring Him glory.
Let Him comfort you. Let your mind be clear and your spirit free.
In His presence.
Who He is to Us
Isaiah, chapter twelve, shows us who He is to us. Practically. Daily. Always.
He is our Salvation. We belong to Him. We are safe with Him. Even beyond this life. For eternity.
He is trustworthy. There is no place for fear. Not of today. Not of tomorrow.
He is our Strength. We can do day-to-day living because He is by our side and gives us guidance.
He is our Vision. He gives us a daily glimpse for living. We can’t make anything happen. But we can be faithful to follow and even that comes from the grace He gives us.
He is the Water. We draw water from the wells of joy that He opens. In His time, His glory will shine forth from what He does in us, not from what we do.
He is our Song. He opens our mouths to sing His praise. From the hearts He has filled.
So – Sing!
SHOUT AND CRY OUT!
GREAT IS THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL IN OUR MIDST!
Oh, Linda Jo, how timely this is for me. Thank you! I always appreciate your honesty and faith-filled outlook. It can be such a challenge to remember our God is always “doing a new thing”—especially when I’m reading the “news.”
Thanks for lifting my heart today!
You are welcome, Laurie. It’s something I am always reminding myself, too.
