New Normal
It’s been a long, hot, dry summer. The fires have raged. The rains have passed us by. Both leaving ravages that we must contend with.
But time marches right along, no matter what. School has started for a new year. Buses rolled along in front of my house picking up students looking forward to a new school year. It brought normalcy with it.
Something we have lacked in the last month. Not that school starting fixes anything, but maybe it helps us to cope with the “new normal” whatever that is going to be.
Rebuilding
Overwhelm can lead to standing still. There is a time and season to stand still. But God continues to lead. There is another vision waiting to be revealed. A new beginning.
Day by day it will be exposed. We put one foot in front of the other. Deal with one project at a time. Help each other and encourage each other.
It’s a new season. Time to walk forward and rebuild.
Living Stones
In the midst, God gives us His mercy. He calls us chosen. Right out of the burning darkness. He calls us special. He is building His people. He says we are living stones being formed to fit into just the right place in His spiritual house. He calls it His church. He loves us and longs to walk with us and show His grace. He says in His Word that we were once not a people, but now we are the people of God. We belong to Him.
In this fallen world, only God knows how our tragedies become triumphs. But He promises the victory.
Cornerstone
God laid the chief Cornerstone. Elect, precious. All who believe on Him will not be put to shame.
As we keep our eyes on the One who has everything in His hands, our vision begins to clear. What He means to develop in us will happen. And we will fit into the right place designed for us in building His spiritual house.
This world is temporary, but what God has for us is eternal.
He will revive in us all that needs to rise from the ashes. He is faithful. His mercy endures forever.
