September morning
Muted beauty.
It’s much easier to admire a muted sun when you know it is fog and not smoke. The air is fresh and crisp. The fog will burn off to become a pleasantly warm, comfortable day.
So, I take a deep breath. It feels good. It’s a beautiful morning.
God is still here.
Signs of Life
After the hot, dry, fire summer, here is a breath of cool, clean air.
Maybe all is not well. Some are picking up life out of the ashes. But God moves us forward. A new start. Looking ahead. Even in the beauty of new little green shoots from the ashes.
Others have lost loved ones from earth and are coping to face a new start. And some are recovering from other traumas.
Yet, today, school is in session. The buses run back and forth, picking up kids in the morning and returning them in the afternoon. Just as it always goes in September.
Turkeys in Motion
Later in the day, a turkey flock struts across the street. A lazy September day for them.
A joy to watch for me.
Another sign that life still cycles. Season after season.
God does not forget us. No matter what. After every disaster, God is present.
He moves us forward.
