Living In Heroic Faith
“Faith is not a pathetic sentiment, but robust vigorous confidence built on the fact that God is holy love.
“Faith is the heroic effort of your life; you fling yourself in reckless confidence on God.
“God has ventured all in Jesus Christ to save us, now He wants us to venture our all in abandoned confidence in Him.”
-Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, May 8

Hello, I’m Linda Jo Reed.
It takes courage to live a life by faith. It also takes a lifetime of practice. And it certainly takes an heroic effort. I don’t see how it can happen unless you “fling yourself in reckless confidence on God.” This profound thought from Oswald Chambers revolutionized my life.
I live in God’s country in the Pacific Northwest in the USA. Mountains and pine trees mean home to me. I delight in finding God’s presence in creatures and nature. He encourages me greatly in this way. My blog posts are often inspired by what I see around me.

Upheld in the Battle
If we live in heroic faith by flinging ourselves with reckless confidence on God, then He makes us strong for the battles we must fight in this life. And there are many. He provides plenty of weapons for our warfare through His Word, the Bible. He also brings alongside us plenty of fellow soldiers to fight the good fight together. I hope you will find help for your conflicts as you look through Upheld In The Battle.
