Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Hi, this is Claire.
And this is Kellie.
We want to thank you for attending our Christmas launch party for Wild Rose Ridge. What a great time! Books have been sent to contest winners and now we all have new friends.
Merry Christmas! It is a joy and a privilege to welcome our Savior to our world every year and thank Him for coming to save us from our sin. We hope your celebration is truly joyful.
Then we start a new year. Do you make New Year Resolutions, only to trash them by the end of January? It seems to be a common malady. Possibly we set our expectations too high.
We, Claire and Kellie, have found that new year goals work so much better. Then you have all year before falling short. (Laugh). Seriously, we are guessing that most of your goals are met sometime in the new year, right?
God knows how to meet us, after all.
What’s Coming for Wild Rose Ridge
Besides the whole community (you can find all the books on Amazon and the list here – https://lindajoreed.com/wildroseridge/) we want to make sure that you are on the lookout for the next Walcott family stories. They are all about Claire’s brothers, Kevin and Kyle, (and Kellie’s uncles).
Kevin’s story is first. We think that maybe you didn’t know that Kevin is an outdoorsy kind of guy. Yes, he is half of a marketing company with foster brother Raul (and Kellie’s hunky fiancee), but Kevin’s heart is to be in God’s great creation. He is closer to God there. Just ask him.
This brings us to Wild Rose Camp on Monster Island. Remember Gail and Gary Cooper who represented Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for the Christmas Santa Cruises in Kellie’s story?
(Wait a minute. This is Claire. It’s my boat and my idea to do Santa cruises.)
(This is Kellie. Yes, of course. But I did the negotiating with the Coopers, hired them and made the plans with them.)
Alright, arguing aside, the Coopers own Wild Rose Camp. It’s their first year to operate the camp and they already have lots of bookings. But they can’t do it single-handedly, and when Kevin found out they needed help, he was right there. He will also serve as camp chaplain (under the supervision of Pastor Michael from Rosehill Community Church).
But, then, Gail found out she needed a hip replacement. And wouldn’t you know, the only time the doctor could fit in her surgery was the week the camp opens? Oh no! So, they asked their granddaughter, Dawn Cooper, to come and fill in for Gail until she could get back on her feet.
You’ll have to read it to find out what happens.
Oh—one last thing. Gail has joined the Hooked on Ewe Knitting Club. And you know what THAT means!
