It’s certainly Spring. Yesterday the sun was shining and everyone was outside in shirtsleeves doing all kinds of fun outdoorsy things. Towards evening, the clouds rolled in for their turn today.
It’s raining. Brrr. It feels cold. But I’m sure the flowers will love this and by the end of the week, we might be loving the results as well. AND – it’s NOT snow!
I love to watch clouds.
I see reminders of the majesty of God in how clouds look, what kind of weather they bring, how they color when the sun hits them just so. From the dark billows and high heads of thunderclouds to the wispy streams in blue skies on early summer mornings, God sits above them guarding our lives.
I don’t remember this, but my children told me once that when they were small, they asked me where clouds came from. Evidently I told them that clouds are God’s cars. They didn’t believe me, but young children don’t challenge their mothers.
One day, after they had grown up and left home, I was pleased to find in the Bible, that clouds are indeed God’s cars. I still believe He rides the clouds and carefully guards our lives—not for our comfort, but to further His Kingdom and safeguard our future.
Knowing about His careful plans for us will be the ultimate in comfort.
“Who makes the clouds His chariot…”Psalm 104:3b
