No doubt about it. There is a LOT to do in marketing a book. At the same time, blessings abound.
Today I did a book signing at Barnes & Noble in Spokane. While it wasn’t a circus atmosphere today like it will be in a very short time, I was busy talking to people all afternoon.
Some were out Christmas shopping. Some were just Christmas “scouting”. Others, the stalwart ones walking into a bookstore, love to read. Some just tried to slide by, thinking I might put a noose around their neck and grab their pocketbook with the other hand. Really – I wouldn’t! However, I have done my share of sliding by in my time, too! I must admit it. After this, I will ALWAYS stop and talk to an author doing a book signing!
Some were very interested in the subject matter of my book. They were the ones who had suffered with huge issues. One lady told me about her kidney transplant. She’s doing great now, but for the first three years, it was a struggle to keep it. I can’t imagine the pain.
Another lady came by in a wheelchair. She is looking forward to building a new life. Her giggles and excitement were catching. I was privileged that she stopped by.
A lady stopped whose son had downloaded my book in Reno, NV! That was fun to hear. She was looking for the print book. (Released Dec 3!) Her grandson has recently been deployed to the Philippines to help there. Her family is very proud of him. As they should be.
A couple came by who were a bit slow mentally. I saw beautiful overcomers with bright faces and friendly manners.
I’d like to thank everyone who stopped by my book table. I am very blessed today. Thank you, Father.
