On this glorious afternoon, I saw buttercups in the woods. I haven’t seen those in years. Those sweet, shiny little yellow blossoms herald spring. As they poked up through the greening landscape, they gently ushered me into God’s Presence. I climbed steep, rocky paths through evergreen trees and bushes just waking up from their winter sleep. As I huffed ever upward, I breathed in the fresh, clean air. The sun felt like my Father’s hands warming my face and the light breeze as His touch ruffling my hair. Joy echoed in the rocks from laughter all round me.
When I reached the peak, I sat on a rock and thought of it as the top of the world. I could see the valley as far as I could turn my head from side to side. The river flowed below and I watched planes across the water practice taking off and landing. An eagle caught my attention as he spiraled up to the sun from his resting place. Oh, to be free!
Days like this were made to be enjoyed. Our Father is glorified when we relish what He has made. He made it for us.
“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good” Genesis 1:31a.
