“Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace, goodwill towards men!”
Resurrection Day is certainly the culmination of those very glad tidings first given to the shepherds at the birth of the Great King. The One who had died a terrible death in our place and now risen from the grave in great Glory!
This is the greatest celebration of our lives! To be redeemed from eternal death! To have all the dark questions of the ages answered for us in Jesus! To have the real evil empire vanquished! To be restored to the status of sonship once again with our Creator! To have the right, again, to walk with God in the cool of the day and feel His love pouring unrestrainedly over us!
Jesus rose two millennia ago, but His promise to return for us is an ever present reality. We can be sure of this.
Though there are still battles to be fought in this earthly life, how good it is to know that He is a Banner over us and loves us and guides us and reminds us that the War is Won! Take heart and continue in the skirmishes, they will come to an end. And we will rise up and join our voices with those who cry, “Hosanna! Hosanna! Glory to God in the Highest! Forevermore!”
Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord!
