Rolling With It Yearly
Winter rolls around every year. I don’t know why it seems like such a long, drawn-out affair. It brings with it plenty of coughing and snorting. I’m sure that I am not the only one to have been suffering with such indignity. Red nose and all. Pass me another tissue.
Unexpected Beauty and Sudden Pop
Though I am stuck at home (reminiscent of covid days, ugh), I have noticed the scenery change. Yes, it is still cold and gray. But even in shades of gray, it is constantly changing. A shroud of fog hung over the trees for several days and brought with it the frozen crystals that stuck to branches. I would think, nothing to see, but still, something different.
Unexpected color winks out here and there. That’s a relief. The earth is still alive underneath the shroud.
Then, suddenly, the whole scene changes and the sun pops out. Now, where did that come from?
Changes in Hope
With the sun comes the renewal of hope. The sky will be blue again. The warmth will return. The flowers will wake up. We will eat fresh, home-grown vegetables again.
For most of us, health will return.
For all of us, our heavenly Father cares for us tenderly. Even in the bleak days, He never leaves us. His plan for each of us will prevail. On earth as it is in heaven.
So, keep the faith, friends. Our God is faithful. Look up. Even in the bleak mid-winter.
