You know how it is to feel the anticipation of preparing for a long awaited event? Imagine a wedding banquet, an anniversary celebration, a birthday party, a family reunion. All joyous occasions built around people you love and care for.
You want it to be perfect and that takes a lot of planning.
For a long period of time, the event is way in the future. So you toss a few ideas around, make some lists. Check out rental places for glowing linens, shining china, and polished silverware. You just know it’s going to be wonderful.
Then, as it gets closer and closer, the activity level raises. The location is selected. Then, before you know it, it’s the week of the event and suddenly you are busily decorating and all the splendid rental cutlery and linens arrive and place settings are put out. The centerpieces are gorgeous.
You can’t wait for your guests to arrive.
I have been hearing from several sources lately that time is short. Jesus is coming soon. I can’t help but think there are fast and furious last minute preparations going on in heaven for His guests – His long awaited family to arrive. The table is nearly ready—are we?
When I see a sunrise or a sunset where the rays are clearly shining through the clouds, it looks to me as if those are escaping rays from God’s throne room. The brilliance must be magnificent. More than our human eyes can behold. But when our spirits are ready for His appearing, we will be able to see Him.
Are you feeling an urgency to set things right with people? Is Jesus calling you? Do you feel that anticipation somehow deep down? An expectancy….
Maybe there is a faint sound of a trumpet? Do you hear it?
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” I Thessalonians 5:9.
“And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” Revelation 5:13.
