At Scribettes (my writers group) last week, we chose a quote to relate to our lives and write about it. I chose one from Mary Oliver:
“Why should I not sit, every morning of my life, on the hillside, looking into the shining world?”
I thought, “This is meant for me! This is what I wonder all the time, too!”
This is where I should be! There is a reason I built a porch around my house that sits on a hill. Yes, it is so I CAN go out and sit to gaze upon the beauty God has created. To do this every morning would be a treat beyond measure.
Consider waiting on the Presence of God each morning:
Feel His Companionship every day.
Gaze on the Beauty of God constantly as you are reminded through His creation right before your eyes!
To KNOW what He wants for you because of Communion with Him.
All this before the day crowds in, demanding time, attention and energy!
This must be what the songwriter felt when he wrote “In The Garden.”
Yes, my Lord sits by me. He holds my hand. He pulls me close—and yes—He calls me His own. How precious these moments!
“My Beloved is mine and I am His,” Song of Solomon 2:16.
