Yesterday
Yesterday I cleared out the pine needles and weeds around some of my plants. I couldn’t believe how many weeds had grown up underneath the needle mulch. I raked, I hoed, and I pulled.
I was sure my muscles would never recover. I’m still not sure.
It’s pretty amazing what grows when you don’t see it.
Today
Today I went to the Garden Expo. I saw so many amazing things. Beautiful plants and flowers everywhere you could look. Yard art. Trellis and plant support. Jewelry and teas. Lavender and honey. And every kind of crafts you can imagine. So creative in every aspect.
I picked up peony supports. Large and sturdy. I’m tired of my peony blossoms laying on the concrete sidewalk. Now they will stand up and praise God the way they are meant to do.
I walked around the house and—here is that word again—amazing! I think my hostas must have grown two inches overnight. Wow.
Always
God planted the first plants. Some to eat. Some to be beautiful. Some for medicines. It seems that He planted this earth for our benefit. He even walked with the first man and woman in the garden in the cool of the day. He called it all good.
And so it is.
