Picking apples and plums this weekend was a fun family activity. The trees were so loaded down that Wendy, my sister in law, told me that the limbs all had to be propped up. One of them got so heavy that it snapped off.
I suppose that isn’t too strange to orchard tenders, but I’ve been looking around and seeing an abundance of fruit, berries and vegetables everywhere. That’s a wonderful thing. God has made provision for His creatures. He is good.
But it seems to me that huge harvests bring huge snows right behind them. What kind of winter might we be looking at?
I am reminded of Joseph in the Old Testament explaining Pharaoh’s dream of the seven fat cows, and the seven lean cows that followed them. Are we approaching such a time?
In light of what’s happening around the world, where is God engaging your heart? What then, are you spending your time on? Will it count for eternity?
Those things that are closest to God’s heart will be those that last. There is a harvest of souls ripe for the picking. It takes prayer, time, and patience. If we are the laborers, then may we look to the Master Harvester to guide our hands.
“Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest,” Matthew 9:38.

A timely and encouraging post, Linda Jo! Very good questions for all of us to bear in mind as we co-labor with Christ. Thanks for another great writing ~ Nanc
