Quiet Afternoon
Lazy Sunday afternoons don’t happen often. Not in our society. We must fill the hours, whether it be work or play, we will do it furiously.
Therefore, when a day comes along that asks for a quiet sitting spell, we should grab it.
Imagine sitting on your porch listening to the trill of birds. Some call, others answer. A warm breeze, colorful flowers everywhere (it is spring these days), fluffy clouds in a blue sky and sun kissed pine needles shining on sweet smelling trees.
And the Mariners won the game today.
What could be better?
Times of Rest
Truly, we do need these times to sit still and recharge.
We think about it. We talk about it. We write about it. But we mostly don’t plan to do it.
Hours whiz by and another day has gone. What have we done with it?
Capture the Day
We need to capture the day when it presents itself. Take the time to regroup. Figure out where we are in our life plan.
Or more importantly, where are we in God’s plan for our lives?
Jesus calls us to rest in His will. His plan for us is easy and light. Because He carries the other side of the yoke.
Time is short. Jesus is coming soon.
Capture the day. In Him.
