I’ve been pondering lots of things lately. After attending two conferences in two weeks—well—that’s a lot of head stuffing.
One of those thoughts that stands out today, though, it is that we are made in the Image of God. It’s something I have written about before. But after the conference I just attended, it’s more real than ever.
We are told in Scriptures that we were made by God to do the works that He has set out beforehand for us to do.
When “in the grove,” it feels right, doesn’t it? That must be when we feel Father God’s smile upon us. Much like Eric Liddell did when he ran and said he felt God’s pleasure in him.
At the Willow Creek Leadership Summit this past week, the last speaker, Louie Giglio honored Willow Creek’s Senior Pastor/CEO Bill Hybels for the wonderful obedience to God that has resulted in this mega-world leadership conference. We could see Bill’s discomfort.
But, as Louie pointed out, God does always get the glory. And it is ok to honor those who walk in obedience and do those works laid out beforehand. It’s creating. And we are made in Creator God’s image. It’s ok to accept honor because God gets the glory. Always.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” Ephesians 2:10.
“Christ in you, the hope of glory” Colossians 1:27.
