I had forgotten how it was to live with little furry friends. It’s been delightful … and … reminding me of the need for patience.
My little friends are kittens (renamed Bubba and Sissy, they like that better!) who are discovering the world. Just like human toddlers, they are into everything. Quite a change from my beloved old ladies who went to kitty heaven a couple years ago.
The kittens do NOT spend a lot of time sleeping—or even sitting. Gamboling is the word that comes to mind and it’s the word that sticks.
They also discovered that they like to attack my feet. Toes, to be precise. Well, it’s not too bad. They are fun. Until they get rambunctious and OUCH! I shake them off. They think I’m playing and come at my poor feet again. However, the doc showed me how to clip claws. You bet I will!
We had an accident today. One of them got too close to my tea cup and spilled my favorite Market Spice Tea. If that wasn’t bad enough, the tea ran the length of the table to get my books wet. Oh NO! This is a terrible thing for a writer!
On the other hand, who can resist these faces, huh?
And they like to sit with me in my office when I am writing. There is a nice carpet covering on my desk just for them. I think they will make good writing buddies after all.
“Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me!” Psalm 66:20.
