A few years ago, our CEO at the ministry where I worked wrote a sweet note to all of us and gave us financial bonuses in cash at Christmas. What a welcome gift. For most of us, that goes a long way toward getting us through the commercial part of Christmas.
Recently, I was looking for my fun winter hats (you know, the ones with ribbons and bows, not the serviceable knit ones) and I pulled a couple of hatboxes down off the closet shelf in my bedroom. Opening one of them confirmed that I had guessed right, the hats were in that one!
I noticed an envelope in the bottom of the box, under the hats, with my name in calligraphy. Curious, I opened it and money fell out! My jaw dropped right along with it.
Investigating further, I opened the envelope to find my CEO’s note! For heaven’s sake! Oh my goodness! I could not believe it! I can’t imagine that was in my hatbox all these years!! I’m still laughing.
It’s been a couple weeks now since I found that envelope and that bonus has gone to THIS year’s commercial Christmas. What a welcome windfall it is to me! God is so good and I can thank my CEO once again.
What fun it was to rediscover a monetary treasure that has now become a memory treasure. I can’t help but think the memory treasure is the more valuable. Wouldn’t you say?
Merry Christmas!
