Pointing Fingers
About that wicked woman who cursed God and verbally kicked her suffering husband!
Mrs. Job lived in ancient times. Maybe that is why it is so easy to point a finger at her. She is so far removed from us. And we really can’t quite wrap our minds around what her time was like.
After all, look what she did! Her sins could not be the same as the ones we struggle with in our own time. Cursing a God who was mostly not acknowledged just couldn’t be the same as doing so today, right? Therefore, our own actions can’t be judged because we can deflect our guilt by heaping the judgement upon Mrs. Job.
God is Not Finished With Us
Except that they can be. The sins. They are the same.
The despair is the same, too, when the enormity of our sin catches up with us.
When things go well, we are happy to serve God. But when things go south, we are inclined to do what Mrs. Job did. Cry out against God.
Is He finished with us at this point? NO! He carefully and gently guides us through and out the other side.
In the pages of Mrs. Job’s Choice, beautiful women share how God stayed with them through the best and the worst. His mercy is showcased in their lives (and all of our lives) just as it was through Job and his wife.
