What’s the story?
We are encouraged to share our faith. Often, we are hesitant to do so. Maybe we are afraid of what someone might think of us. Or we might be afraid of consequences that might bring down upon us. We certainly have heard increasing news on that score.
Jesus Messiah told His story over and over and giving His testimony couldn’t be refuted. He drew people to Himself. People love story. People love it when someone cares enough to reach out to them.
He also made enemies. Arguments may abound when talking religion, or even citing Scriptures. People will believe what they want, and they will hear what they want. The enemies that Jesus made conspired to put Him to death, and succeeded. We have recently celebrated that very Redemption of our souls. But, He rose from the dead and now the way is clear for us to tell the story.
Not religion. But love and sharing. Tell a story. Tell how God helped us to overcome an issue, or helped us through an illness or a difficult circumstance. Something we could not have done ourselves, but had to reach for Someone outside of ourselves. And He was there.
We are to reflect God and to show a family resemblance. If we do, we will draw others to Him. What could be better than showing the way to eternal life and the assurance that we will be there together with Him? Isn’t this what love is—considering the good of another? So, we tell our stories and invite our hearers to come with us to eternal life. What He has in store for us, “no eye has seen, nor ear heard!”
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you” John 15:12.
