Kind words. Encouraging words. What does that do for you?
Someone gave those to me concerning my speaking task last week. It affirmed the message that I feel God has given to me to share.
We are told in the Bible that it was written for our instruction, correction, equipping, etc. I think that means all the good parts where people behaved themselves as well as all the bad parts where people misbehaved and even hurt others. Uh… like wars, murders, adulteries, and such.
What if that exhortation is extended to us today? What if we are called to share our stories with one another for all the reasons that Scripture lists?
What good does it do when you bury your past as if it never happened? Do reactions and behaviors to situations now just come out of the blue? Or is there a basis through the past experience? And if there is a basis, then what kind of good would it do to share it and discover that someone else has already been there and can help you walk through it?
I wonder what kind of spirit would sweep through the land if God’s people become transparent to one another and reached out.
As for last week: I know there were as many stories of needs to overcome as well as those warrior princesses who have already overcome. What an encouragement it is to hear them all and shout the victories for them! For the King! For the Kingdom!
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” II Timothy 3:16.
