Muscle Memory
I sit here and look at blue sky and sunshine. It is a balm to my soul. I can even see the snow capped mountains in the distance.
Yet it is only ten degrees outside. And that is an improvement over the sub-zero temps we’ve been enduring for the last few days.
Being shut in has some kind of muscle memory—reminiscent of 2020.
Is there a lesson here?
This, too, Shall Pass
With another winter snowstorm warning pending, it seems like it’s been a long winter. Though, in truth, it has only been harsh over the last couple of weeks.
I admit, I enjoy the lovely paintings, photos, and book covers that portray a snow- covered world. With dark blue skies and twinkle lights in the moonlight, it looks so beautiful and romantic.
I am just fine to let it stay in the pictures. The real thing means a lot of work.
But—this, too, shall pass.
Choose Joy
I’ve been hearing a lot lately that it is not circumstances that dictate the responses in our souls. It is attitude (and maybe a bit of Vitamin D!).
God’s Word is full of joy. He urges us to choose it so our lives will be better.
So take in the sunshine with both eyes and let joy guard your heart all through whatever this season holds.
Our God is faithful to finish what He has begun in us.

Oh my, but I needed to read this today! Thank you for listening so closely to the Spirit, my friend. I am holding my head higher, even as I type!
Here’s to vitamin D and sunbeams and a joyous, trusting heart in the year ahead!
Linda Jo Reed says
Amen, Laurie. I’m talking to myself here, too. So glad God is always close to us. I join you with “a joyous, trusting heart in the year ahead!”
