Taking A Walk
I went walking with friends recently. What a gift to be out, about, and free. The air was fresh and crisp. We visited as we exclaimed at the recession of snow and stopped here and there to admire decorations or landscapes.
The sun has been shining lately. A testimony to the coming of spring and walking away from winter. The welcome warmth and brightness put a bounce in our step. It’s the time of year that we watch life coming back.
Resurrection from the dead.
In Being
With the freedom to move about returning, the echoes of “follow Me” vibrate through our souls. Opportunities to follow Jesus in our daily lives are as varied as we are. He calls us where we are.
We just need to listen for His voice.
I like to sit on my porch during the “hush” time of day when the sun slants through the trees and gilds the branches. Then, the sky is blue, and so are the distant mountains. Shadows just begin to fall, and the birdsong is sweet. I ponder that Jesus walks during the cool of the day to seek my company. Am I ready for Him?
It’s a pleasant time to listen for Jesus.
What do you do when you are just “being” and listening for Jesus?
Being Available and Expectant
Being what? Nothing. Just being. Being available. Being quiet. Being refreshed. Being expectant for what He will do. Being ready for what His plans are for us.
Jesus comes to sit beside us. Sometimes He speaks to our souls. Sometimes He is silent. That’s when we need to listen most closely. Just being quiet together.
Sometimes no words are needed.
“He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul” (Psalm 23:2-3 NKJV).

I find it difficult to sit still and tune into Jesus each morning. It’s a habit I’ve endeavored to establish this year. To just … be with Him, the God of all creation!
I’m with you, Mary.
