Big Sky
They call Montana the Big Sky state. Whoever “they” are, must be right.
“How lovely is your tabernacle,
O Lord of Hosts!
My soul longs, yes, even faints
For the courts of the Lord;
My heat and my flesh cry
Out for the Living God” (Psalm 84:1-2 NKJV).
It’s pretty easy to see that there are courts of the Lord behind these clouds.
Rain
After seeing this sky and wondering what it will be like in the courts of the Lord, my sighs lifted straight up to the Throne. I bet you’ve been there, too.
A few days after this magnificent sky, it rained. The clouds rolled in and darkened everything. The rain was needed, but the gloom came with it. So we choose, dry sunshine or wet gloom.
The truth is, we need both. The sunshine lights up our souls, but without the rain to water us, we don’t grow. And growth is a must.
“As they pass through the alley of Baca,
They make it a spring;
The rain also covers it with pools.
They go from strength to strength;
Each one appears before God in Zion” (Psalm 84:6-7 NKJV).
Strength Through Growth
It’s been a tough year for many of us. But God. That’s the Word we’ve been sharing around.
But God.
The rains have pounded since summer. Sorrows have multiplied for families. We can’t help but groan, grow and learn.
But God.
In the natural realm, He has given us a glorious autumn. The colors are bright, vibrant, even flamboyant. Because God overflows in splendor. He shares it with us.
Still, winter is coming. That’s what autumn means. And more growth will bring greater strength.
But God.
