In this fire season, is there anything else to be writing about? We’ve seen some amazing photos of mighty fires as the dry summer has encouraged it to eat up whole communities in my state.
I feel for those who have lost. Can anyone know such loss if one has not experienced it?
And I am proud of the spirit of the people of the town that says, “we will rebuild!”
Over and over, in disasters around the country, we are witnessing devastated communities rebuilding with the help of neighbors. That “can do” spirit has not been squelched.
We can also see in the paintings in the skies the beauty. Photo after photo posted on Facebook and other medias. The beauty – square in the middle of the disaster.
Isn’t that just the way it is? The calamity followed by grace and mercy. God’s graciousness abounds even in the tragedies. We don’t understand, but He has a plan. To do good to us, not evil – however it looks.
His grace abounds. Always.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope,” Jeremiah 29:11.
