God does work through people! I don’t see how anybody can doubt this. It could be said that the Christmas Spirit is still here, but I like to think it’s not just at Christmastime.
Within two days last week, in my family, we experienced three beautiful acts of kindness. One of my sisters was in a grocery line. She noticed that the customer in front of her left an extra $5 bill with the cashier. Unthinkingly, she commented on how nice it was for that customer to leave her a tip. The cashier responded, “Oh, no, we aren’t allowed to accept tips. He passed this along for you.” How nice of him!
Another sister works in a post office. In the long line in front of her, she heard one customer moan, “I only need ONE stamp! Just one.” The lady my sister was waiting on right then, said, “And please give me one stamp, too.” So kind of this lady to help the other one.
At the last book signing I did, a lady bought one of my books. She then brought it out of the store, where I was sitting, and asked me to pass it along to someone I notice that afternoon who may seem to be in need. And she left. My mouth was stuck open, I’m sure. I asked the Lord right then to show me somebody. After all, I was in a Mall. Most people were there Christmas shopping. It wasn’t a place people in need would be flocking to, after all.
But, I noticed an older lady in a wheelchair. I thought she was waiting for someone by the escalator. Then, a couple times she wheeled around the escalator before coming to a stop in the same place. I took the book to her. I explained that a lady had bought this book and it was for her, in the wheelchair. As I told her what the book was about, she opened up and said she recently got some very bad health news and could use encouragement. God bless her. God bless the lady who was so generous.
God is good. All the time. Praise His Name!
