For some of us, it has been a tough week. We are coming to the realization that life will never be what it was in our country. Who we once were, is not who we are now. Then, we wonder who we are becoming. And what is coming at us.
It seems our laws get changed according to our passions without regard for the consequences they may bring about. It’s a scary thought. One may wonder if common sense no longer has a place in our midst. Every man (or woman) does what is right in the sight of his/her own eyes. Sometimes, that means stepping on the toes of others. I think, without a standard to measure by, how can it be otherwise?
Perhaps one can be forgiven for wondering what the reckoning will be? Change is certainly all over and around us.
For those of us who hold to the Biblical Standard, it is a good time to remember that God is still on the throne. I’ve seen reminders all over the internet and I appreciate those reminders in a world that seems so out of control. It isn’t. At least, it is not out of God’s control. His plan will come to pass. It may be uncomfortable or even frankly frightening, but His plan will happen. And we have a part to play. The hope is that Eternity is out in front and we will see our faithful God forever.
Will we join the persecuted Church around the world? Some would say we are already experiencing some of it. I don’t know the answers to all these questions, but I do know the One who IS the Answer. He will see us through no matter what.
