Season of Change
If there is one thing we can count on, it is that nothing ever stays the same. The new growth of spring blooms into hot, arid days of summer. Summer blasts into the exotic colors of autumn which melt into the blizzards of winter.
The changes are inevitable. Life flows, then it ebbs and drains like the tide going out with the ocean. And another phase begins.
Season of Sorrow
This year has been tough for many families. It’s hard to face another Christmas, the season of joy, glad tidings and celebration, when some beloved ones are permanently missing.
It can’t be altered. We can’t turn back the clock. We can only go forward. As generations before us have endured.
We don’t do acceptance any better than we do waiting.
Season of Joy
Amid the bright lights, the edible goodies, and parties, sorrow walks along with us like a shadow. Always edging the joy and activity during this time. Because someone is missing.
“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them” (Psalm 139:16 NKJV).
Scripture assures us that all of our days are numbered in God’s book in the sky. No matter if our lives are long or short, our purpose is completed when we leave earth. Knowing this gives us a measure of comfort. This, because God has all matters in place. All the time.
A day of reuniting with our loved ones is coming. What a joyous celebration that will be. A reason for true Christmas.
Until then, in faith, we keep our eyes and hearts trained on Jesus who will carry us forward through all things.
Season of Hope
Christmas. When our families come together to celebrate.
Christmas. The way Jesus entered the world and the purpose for which He became a man.
His birth … our birth
His death … our death
His resurrection … our resurrection
Immanuel. God With Us
Jesus is our hope.
