A Blank Sheet
That’s how I view the first day of the new year. It’s wide open. What new prospects lie in front? Possibilities are endless. I can do anything or go anywhere because there is nothing written on the sheet yet and so much “out there” waiting.
While it’s true that a new year brings new opportunities, the reality is that I bring everything my life contains into the new year. Oh yeah.
Know what I mean?
Continuing
Well, then, maybe this will be the year that…fill in the blank. I’ll bet I am not the only one who wants that fresh start with new hopes.
Resolutions aside, life is a continuing stream. What was before comes with us into the new unknown. The bills still need to be paid every year. We still have to get up and go to work. Relationships are still hanging out. Illnesses are still present.
What changes will we pass through this year?
A Sustaining Outlook
We can’t foretell what the new year will bring, but we can move forward with faith in our God to lead and guide us wherever we should go. He is faithful, good and true.
He gives us talents and desires that I believe He expects us to put to good use. The risk factor can be a show stopper, but if we move beyond it, what may open before us?
So, as you lay this year of 2018 before Him, what are your hopes and dreams? What steps will you take?
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” John 15:7.
Good shot in the arm to start off the new year! I’m just thankful the holidays are over and behind me for a year. Can I stop spending money for a while? Good show!!!
Hi Greg: Yep, I enter into your sentiments. I’m glad the holidays are over for another year, too. Let’s get on with living!
Love the photo. And the subheadings. And the hope. And already I love this whole new as yet untrammeled year before us to dare travel a new road and try stuff and meet wild turkeys out ambling and people who carry messages for us and who need our story too … amen
Hi Laurie:
So, here’s to a New Year that has passed through the hands of our faithful Jesus. I look forward to traveling with you, my friend.
