Something Natural
As I took a walk the other day, after the big windstorm in the area, I noticed the autumn colors reasserting themselves. After two doses of snowy winter in the last few weeks, I wondered if we would miss the glory of autumn altogether.
But God is good. The sun has returned and the awesomely beautiful autumn with it! I rejoiced!
My neighborhood is made of hills. You can’t walk in any direction without going up or down. It’s a good workout. Looking up toward the top of the hill, I nearly missed what was at my feet.
A sweet, pretty swag made of pine needles and colorful leaves had been arranged. It lay at the side of the road right in my path. I must suppose the wind did that, by God’s grace, and it was a lovely, unexpected gift in my day.
A reminder that my God and Father never forgets me.
Nothing Too Hard
Life can be so complicated. It swirls around us. Or it is stagnant, and we are in a holding pattern. Often, we just can’t see the way forward, and it’s even muddy behind us. Maybe our thoughts whirl around and don’t make any sense.
And then, something like a natural swag, complete with decorations, suddenly appears before us.
There is nothing too hard for God. Our lives may be muddied at times, but He knows where He is leading us. And sometimes He leaves signposts along the way to encourage us to keep going. Our Jesus never abandons us as we trust the path He sets before us. He comes alongside us. He even holds our hand if we let Him.
