Get Ready!
No cars whizzed by on my busy road. The world had not yet begun to wake up for the day. The hush prevailed.
I couldn’t sleep this morning. For some reason, I woke up just as the sun was breaking the horizon and this sense of excitement came over me. I had to jump out of bed and watch the sun rise.
Birds sang invitation, sort of like a trumpet announcement.
“He’s coming. He’s coming soon. Get ready! Get ready!”
The sun rays edged over the earth, electrifying the atmosphere.
Where is the Promise of His Coming?
These words swept through my mind, chasing away the sleepiness, and I thought, “You haven’t forgotten us!”
Father has not forgotten us.
Jesus is excited, ready to burst through the clouds to meet us.
Holy Spirit hovers, waiting for the appointment.
Will this new day bring the Promise?
The Son Returns
As the sun’s presence became more pronounced, joy lingered in the warming air.
Assurance that time will soon come to its fullness and the Son will appear in all His brilliant glory to be seen by those of us awaiting Him.
Early in the morning, the continuing birdsong proclamation, sun rays shimmering through the trees, touched my soul. I felt settled, satisfied, and filled.
The Son is coming! The Son is coming soon!
Get Ready!
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).
