What Is It?
That was my first thought today as I drove home. Sunshine everywhere and a big, blue bowl overhead. I haven’t seen blue sky in a long time. Not only was the sky blue today, but it was warm enough to wear a light jacket. A-maz-ing!
As I crested the hill, I could see the mountains in the distance and big, billowing white clouds above them.
Somehow, it seemed like a sky of hope.
After The Darkness
Ice and snow still cover the ground, but the melt is on. Soon, we will see green grass, colorful flowers and hear the buzz saws of landscaping. Soon I can make my annual spring trek around the house to see what buds are poking their heads out of the ground to test the weather, asking themselves if it is safe to venture out yet.
“Come! Come!” I cry.
It’s been a season of darkness. I don’t know what is yet to come, but I do know the Savior who brings us out of the gloom. After the darkness, where all things incubate, hope springs forth.
Seeing
Season follows season. While the traumas may continue, we can be sure that God sees us, and He has our hearts secure.
As Job once cried out, “Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” (Job 2:10). Only God knows our true story.
These lyrics still ring in my ears from a song written by Darlene Zschech some years ago. They are still true.

Linda Jo, I had to smile at your mention of “Shout to the Lord.” Darlene Z’s words and melody have been my go-to song of late, whether singing it aloud or running the words in my mind. And yes, bring on the sunshine! Thanks for reminding me of Light breaking through darkness.
Yes, for sure. Eyes on God’s promises for after the darkness.
