The Suspense
I’ve been reading an end time thriller that’s giving me the chillers, all right. Joel Rosenberg has done it again with his new “Without Warning.” If you haven’t read it yet – go get it! His books really have that you are there something that somehow affects your life.
I haven’t finished reading it yet, and will go sit down with it as soon as I post this blog. So I can’t tell you how it ends—no spoiler here—but I can tell you that he opens the book with a grievous attack on our own Capitol in Washington DC.
Has the end of the world come? But wait, we aren’t ready!
A Pure Bride
I’ve always thought Jesus was coming back for a Church without spot or wrinkle. In Revelation, we are told that at the Wedding Supper, Jesus will be presented with such a Bride.
But I know we aren’t that yet and I figured He’d be waiting for a while longer. Except that if He waits for us to be without spot or wrinkle while on earth—He’ll never come back!
So—what does that mean for His return? I’m glad you asked.
I believe that Jesus will come back for His Church when the time is right—regardless of our state of being. Provided, of course, that we have put our trust in Him to save us. It’s our love for Him, our commitment to Him, and our acceptance of His Sacrifice on the cross for us that determines He is coming back for us.
The Right Time
It’s not our purity. It’s not our righteousness. It’s not about our ability to follow rules. We can’t have any of that without His giving it to us. It’s about the Right Time.
He delays because there are some whom He is still seeking. Whose hearts have not yet recognized Him. I know I want all of my loved ones on His pickup list.
God holds His people securely!
Ok, then. Anytime.
Marantha!
Come, Lord Jesus.
