Receive Blessing
I wrote about a song a couple weeks ago where—unfathomable as it is—Father God runs after us.
This week another song claims my attention. It’s a simple song, but it carries God’s blessings to us and our generations. A very complicated message. And one of everlasting love.
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace (Numbers 24-26 NKJV).
In the next verse, it is God speaking and He says He will bless those children who carry His Name.
Blessing Generations
What a comfort it is to know that when we ask for blessing for our generations, He gives it.
As an older person, it means a lot to me to bless my family. I want them all to know God. At times, I have sent this song to some of them. It is Scripture.
The song reiterates that God will bless us, our children, their children and their children. That’s up to four blessed generations. I think there is something in the Scriptures that talks about four generations.
So, if I ask God to bless my children, and they ask God to bless their children, and the next generation does the same—does that mean four generations work into eternity of generations?
I want my generations to carry His Name.
I want to see them in heaven.
God is good. All the time.
Reassurance Blessing
Last, how wonderful it is to know that God not only runs after us, but He goes before us. He is behind us, and all around us. What a comfort! To know He is with us in every way.
He is FOR us.
How many times do we have to be reminded that He is FOR us?
Pretty often, in my case.
Especially in all the distraction that makes up my life. I need that reminder that God Is For Me.
I need the reassurance that He is FOR my generations.
Do you?
