Imminent Danger
No, this photo is not a suspended hornet’s nest. Though it does seem to resemble one. I remember a time when I took a walk during a lunch hour. Deep in thought, my head was down. When I looked up, there was a dangling hornet’s nest, directly in front of me.
Saved by God. I have no doubt.
Do you feel overwhelmed these days? Maybe life looks like this hanging branch of pinecones. Each cone represents something else pulling on the days of your life. Stretching you this way, then that way until the pinecone falls to the ground. Maybe taking a piece of your life with it.
The Way of Things
I’ve been attending a lot of funerals/memorial services lately. I remember when it used to be weddings. I suppose it is the natural way of things. Life and death. Always partners. As ordained at the beginning of earth’s journey. As my generation gets older, this will become increasingly frequent.
Sorrow upon sorrow.
We are not the first generation to experience this and I expect we will not be the last.
God With Us
Immanuel is one of His Names. Not just for Christmas, but at all times.
Someday, time will cease to exist. But until then, God holds it in His hands. Right along with all of us. He is faithful. He will always be with us. He promises His presence with us.
I don’t know about you. But I’m counting on Him.
It is comforting to know that Immanuel holds us at all times. Even after death. We may not know what happens after death or where our loved ones have gone.
But we do know that Immanuel is there, too.
Trust His Heart
Back to those scary, multitudinous pinecones. When you can’t see or understand the circumstances around you, know that God is present.
He has everything in hand. All things to shape our character, to teach us to love and forgive, to impart grace, to equip us to manage, to show us how to look up, to remind us that life eternal is ahead, and much more.
Recently I came across a quote from Charles Spurgeon. A song was sung by Steve Green. All about trusting His heart for us. Even if we can’t see his hand.
“God is too good to be unkind and He is too wise to be mistaken. And when you cannot trace His hand, you must trust His heart.” Charles Spurgeon.
Stop what you are doing for a moment today and look up, friend. Trust His presence with you.
Love this! 💕
Laura, thank you.
