Unfinished Projects
Summer has gone and now the sunny, warm days of autumn will turn to cool, crisp days.
I don’t know about you, but about this time I get lazy about maintaining my yard. The same yard I was so excited about just a few months ago. Yes, the same yard that I eagerly paced around, looking for every new shoot out of the ground. The same beloved roses that I so diligently kept sprayed up against bugs and mildew. Well, the roses are still lovely, but the browning leaves and drooping blooms on everything else tells another story.
Unfinished projects.
With winter coming, all these projects, inside and outside, are screaming for attention. Does anyone feel this pressure besides me?
Stretching
On top of my ever-present tasks, I have signed up for a 21-Day Boot Camp, facilitated by my publisher, Redemption Press, for the month of October. I am excited about it and at present, meeting my classmates online. Such an accomplished and diverse group of women, I think this is going to be wonderful.
BUT – our first assignment was to do a live Facebook post. Oh dear. I have never done one before and I was hoping to avoid ever having to do it. But, here it is. This is how we are getting to know one another. I can’t believe what a blessing this is! And yes, I did do it. It wasn’t perfect, or even beautiful, but it was ok for the first one ever.
Stretching my faith. Stretching my abilities. Stretching my horizons.
Right?
Completion
Jesus, our Lord and God, promises that He will finish every good work that He begins in us.
If He assigns us a task, He will give the ability to do it. And we don’t have to hang our heads in dejection like my poor plants.
We can trust Him to see us through, no matter the plan. He will guide us through assignments and tasks. He will comfort us and give us the energy to do what needs to be done during a tough time. He will give vision for the future and a way to walk in it. In His time and for our best interest.
Yes, trust Him.
He completes us.
Hello Linda Jo,
It was a pleasure seeing your smiling face in your picture here and reading your words of gratitude and appreciation to our creator for sharing not only his genius but his generosity in the beauty of the specific nature you enjoy all around you.
It feels like your words showed me the smile of a happy generous child of God who loves to drink in God’s goodness in every moment that she can and then to quickly spread out her special thoughts upon the pages of this blog to bring a richness to others too.
Hi Barbara: Thank you so much for those lovely words. I’m so glad you came to look. Yes, our God’s goodness, beauty and kindness are all around us and I think He loves it when we take the time to appreciate Him and His handiwork. Bless you today.
