Courageous Women of the Bible by LaTan Roland Murphy
I knew when this book arrived for review that it would be special. And so it has turned out to be. LaTan Roland Murphy has given us a book to carry alongside us as we travel through this life.
Styles of Courage
In showcasing the lives of several women, LaTan has revealed many different aspects of courage. Somehow, I had not thought of courage as being multi-faceted. Yet, I am learning that it is.
Twelve chapters detail the lives of twelve women, each in her own way, showing courage needed in her life. Courage in leading a nation, in reaching out no matter how difficult, telling the truth, being vulnerable, braving possible danger while correcting a dangerous lapse and more.
Questions of Courage
At the end of each chapter, there are questions to examine yourself and to bring you closer to Jesus. I read this book quickly because of this review, but I plan to go back and spend much time with each “woman” and answer those questions.
Courage Today
Even though these women lived in a time long ago, their circumstances are universal for us today. LaTan has told their stories in a way that brings them to life for us. She writes in a conversational way, so get your teapot, your cup and saucer, Bible and journal and enjoy.
Courage to Ask for a Copy
Along with the copy sent to me for review, I received a second copy to give away. I would love to do so. If you would like to enter a drawing, please send me an email lindajoreed@gmail.com and I will put your name in my hat. I plan to draw a name by June 20, 2018.
