Time Traveling
The Dove candy wrapper quotes Rachel O. Washington, “Keep life moving forward, looking backward is only for time travelers.”
I always wondered about time traveling. Imagine going backwards in time to visit any era. What would your questions be?
How have war tactics changed over time? Certainly, every generation has coped through war.
Has man always been enamored of the stars? From Galileo (thinking telescope here), and probably before, star gazers wondered what was “up there.”
How has world geography changed? We know now the earth is round. And where is the Garden of Eden these days?
Yes, traveling the past would be an enlightening experience. But what could we learn and apply today? (That travel would have to be temporary, too! No closing any portal, please!)
More Recent Time Traveling
While it might be fun to experience the past, in a temporary fashion of course, maybe it would not be so fun to travel our own history again.
What would you change if you could?
What if you really could go back and tell your “younger me” a thing or two? Do you think you would listen to your own sage advice?
Do you think some headaches might have been avoided?
Moving Forward
I suppose the only reasonable thing to do is move forward. Lessons have been learned, most likely the hard way, right?
But God has always been there. Pulling us out of our pits, brushing us off, tipping up our chins to His face with his finger to assure us that He still loves us.
What adventures still await?
How can we put one foot in front of the other for yet one more day, waiting for the guidance of our God?
He will never steer us wrong.
If only we’d wait on Him.

I to encountered Ms. Washington’s words while eating a Dove chocolate block. In all honesty it seemed to draw me. My wife and I partake each day and I usually toss the foil wrapper without reading. Thank you for this page of enlightenment. Looking forward to reading the book. Our Precious Lord proves His love for each person each day. His grace sufficient. Thank you and thank you Lord.
Hi C.W.: You are so welcome. I don’t always look at the sentiments on the candy wrappers, but now and then there are some real words of wisdom in there. I agree, our Lord shows us His love and daily guidance for us in so many unexpected ways. I hope you enjoy the book. Blessings to you.
