Invisibility
A night sky. Where all things are muted. Sounds are quiet, distant, or sudden shrieks that die away in the dark.
Gazing outward, what do you see? Shadows.
All things are colorless and invisible.
The struggles of the day are muted, too. Struggles of significance. Trying to make our lives count for something. To explain ourselves when it is unexplainable.
A Plan for Invisibility
Have you ever felt invisible? How does that make you feel? Unseen? Unheard? Insignificant?
I am thankful for invisibility. At times. I think. What can I learn?
Invisibility can free us from ourselves. Oswald Chambers said St. Augustine asked God to deliver him from the lust of vindicating himself. Oswald says that “destroys the soul’s faith in God.”
It is not important to try to make people understand. Jesus said His piece and let it fall where it would. Oswald went on to say that Jesus never explained, He simply left things alone. People would make up their own minds and God’s will would prevail. *
What a new idea! What can I learn here?
God’s Plan in Invisibility
What if you have a burning message from God that you just HAVE to release to the world?
Maybe it is a time to wait. To soak first in the indiscernible timing of God. To open your ears to hear Him speak to you in the quiet place.
You are in a training period. Keep your heart and mind open and learn all you can. Don’t be in such a hurry. Simmer in the pot. The simmering brings forth the savory flavors.
Still in the unrevealed place. Where all is muted. This is okay. God sees.
I see you, My beloved. I am fashioning you for My service. I am not in a hurry and I know exactly what I want to accomplish through you. Be patient, Child. There is a time to be invisible, a time to simmer, and a time for going forth. Don’t try to rush the process.
Imperceptible or Purposeful? Or both?
Soak In This
Today, feel Abba’s love for you.
If your life is out of control. If you are invisible. Stuck. Tired. Alone. Abandoned. Rejected.
Your Abba God sees you and loves you.
All will be well. Your life is in His hands. He holds your hopes, and all will unfold in His timing.
Invisibility is okay. Will you trust Him with your invisibility?
He is in you, by you, around you.
He holds you in the palm of His hand. Especially in the muted darkness.
Always.
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6 NKJV).

Such comforting words, Linda Jo. Thank you!
Here’s to simmering . . .
I wonder: as we say yes to waiting, are we automatically in line for training wheels, er, wings? : )
Linda Jo Reed says
Hmmm, good question, Laurie. My guess is that whatever comes after simmering is whatever God plans for us. Fair enough?
